The role of a teacher is important; the role of a teacher as a reading teacher in all disciplines for all students is more important. Scott Slechta, 2016 Iowa Teacher of the Year, will offer ways to use simple reading activities and drama skills to enhance learning. Suggestions will be made for not only English and reading classes, but also other content areas. Group discussion will build more ideas, and participants will leave with a plan for a new lesson incorporating reading, drama, and 21st Century Skills!
